CLINTON — The Clinton River King Golf team downed Muscatine in a rare match play contest at Clinton Country Club Wednesday. The River Kings won the dual, five match points to two.

Recording match points for Clinton were Elliott Deering, Brennen Roling, Logan Hood and Alex Feaster. Shane Nier and Logan Hood each split their match points.

The Muskies dropped the River Kings in the junior varsity contest five points to one. Recording the lone victory for Clinton was Tony Balk.

“It was a great for the kids and definitely a change of pace from our regular format,” Clinton River King coach Paul Niedermeyer said of the unique match play event. “I think they really had fun with it.”

Clinton is back in action today as they travel to Burlington for a Quadrangular meet.
