CLINTON — Outfielder Estarlyn Morales and pitcher Lukas Schiraldi were selected to represent the Clinton LumberKings later this month in the Midwest League All-Star Classic.
The league announced the rosters Thursday for both the Eastern and Western teams. Morales will start in the outfield for the Western stars, while Schiraldi will pitch out of the bullpen.
Morales, the 22-year-old outfielder from the Dominican Republic, has hit .252 with three home runs. The outfielder is second on the Clinton roster in RBIs with 28 and is tied for the team lead in stolen bases.
Schiraldi, 21, will pitch out of the bullpen for the West. The Austin, Texas, native is 4-3 with a 3.69 ERA over his first 10 Midwest League starts. Schiraldi has back-to-back outings in which he’s allowed only one earned run. Schiraldi is 2-0 with a 1.04 ERA over his past four starts.
The 51st MWL All-Star Classic will be held June 23 at Dozer Park in Peoria, Illinois. Peoria Manager Joe Kruzel will lead the Western Division team, while Lake County’s Shaun Larkin will manage the Eastern club.
