Barry will place at state tournament

Clinton sophomore Ethan Barry will place at the Iowa High School state wrestling tournament at 195 pounds. 

Barry pinned Nate Heckart in 4:16 in the consolation round to stay alive at the tournament.

Clinton's Isaac Larkin was eliminated from the tournament at 138 pounds with an 8-3 loss to Bettendorf's Will Jefferson. Larkin lost earlier by pin to Trenten Wennermark. 

11:30 a.m.

Crigger, Campie bow out of tournament

Camanche's state wrestling contingent bowed out of the tournament this morning. 

Eric Campie, a 145-pounder, lost by decision 4-1 to Humboldt's Joey Busse in the second round of the consolation round. 

Baylor Crigger, a 152-pounder, lost by decision 6-5 to Red Oak's Justin McCunn in the second round of consolations. Crigger earlier lost a quarterfinal match to Mitchel Mangold 6-3. 

Campie finishes the season at 42-12, while Crigger's season ends at 45-5. 

11 a.m.

Zeimet pins to stay alive

Central DeWitt freshmen 106-pounder Keaton Zeimet pinned Clear Lake's Sam Nelson in the consolation round this morning to stay alive in the Iowa High School state wrestling tournament. 

Zeimet is now assured a medal after pinning Nelson in 1:09. He will now face Jacob Mielke in the consolation round. 

10:15 a.m.

Wennermark pins Larkin

Cedar Rapids Prairie's Trenten Wennermark pinned Clinton's Isaac Larkin in the second period during quarterfinal action this morning at the Iowa High School state wrestling tournament. 

Wennermark completed the pin in 3:23 to move on to the semifinals at 138 pounds. 

Larkin was in control of the match for much of the first period and the early portion of the second period. He built a 4-0 lead, before Wennermark completed a reversal and then finished the pin in the second period. 

Larkin will now face Bettendorf's Will Jefferson in the consolation bracket.

9:50 a.m.

Smith advances to semifinals

Central DeWitt 195-pounder Nick Smith moved on to the semifinals later tonight at the Iowa High School state wrestling tournament. 

In a 4-4 tie, Smith was awarded the victory with 17 seconds remaining because of an injury default to No. 2 ranked Nick Foss, of Harlan. 

The fifth-ranked Smith will face No. 1 Bryce Esmoil, of West Liberty. 

9:35 a.m.

Crigger stalls in quarterfinal match

West Delaware's Mitchel Mangold built a 5-1 lead and held on for a 6-3 decision against 152-pounder Baylor Crigger of Camanche this morning in quarterfinal action. 

Crigger will now move on to the consolation round, where he will face Justin McCunn.
