DAVENPORT — With the wind at their backs, the Davenport West Falcons scored seven goals in the second half to beat Clinton 8-0 in girls soccer Tuesday.

“We played a strong 40 minutes to begin the game and trailed only by one goal at half,” Clinton coach Eric Gettes said. “(In the second half) we gave it a good shot but just couldn't stop them.”

Gettes said he was pleased with the efforts of Kathryn Bousman and Lexee Brooks.

West won the junior varsity game 1-0.

Clinton returns home to play Davenport Central next Tuesday. The game is being billed as “Breast Cancer Awareness Night.” Both the varsity and freshman/sophomore teams will wear pink uniforms in order to bring attention to breast cancer.
