Parents and fans will have a chance to see the Clinton High School winter sports teams Friday when the school holds its annual preview night.
There also will be meetings for parents with the coaches of each sport.
The first previews start at 3:15 p.m., when the boys swimming team will gather at the high school pool and the girls basketball team will be on display in W.J. Yourd Gymnasium. The parents meeting for swimming will follow at 5 p.m. at the pool, while the basketball parents will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the CHS library.
Wrestling practice begins at 3:30 p.m., followed by the parents meeting at 6 p.m. in the CHS theater.
Boys basketball practice runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by the parents meeting at 7. Both events are in Yourd Gymnasium.
The winter sports season begins next Monday, when the girls basketball team travels to Dubuque to face Dubuque Hempstead. Clinton then hosts the 38th annual River Queen Classic Friday, Nov. 23, and Saturday, Nov. 24. Central DeWitt and Prince of Peace play in Friday’s first game at 5 p.m., followed by Clinton vs. Camanche at 6:30 p.m.
The first boys basketball game is Nov. 27 at Cedar Rapids Jefferson, while the swimming and wrestling seasons begin with meets Nov. 29.
