Bowling: Sabers, Cardinals split pair of matches

MAQUOKETA — Central DeWitt and Maquoketa split varsity matches last Friday in high school bowling at Timber Lanes.

Central DeWitt won the girls battle 2,338-2,147 as Shelby Carrier turned in the top individual performance, back-to-back 213 games.

Luke Quinlan put up game scores of 255 and 246 to lead the Maquoketa boys to a 2,822-2,704 victory. Karson Smith had a 257-211—468 to lead the Sabers. The Cardinals had a five-pin edge in individual games but outscored DeWitt 957-844 in the Baker round.
