Bowling: Kings win; Queens fall

CLINTON — Clinton defeated Bettendorf 3,272-2,949 on Monday at Plaza Bowl to finish the Mississippi Athletic Conference boys bowling season with a 7-1 record. Bettendorf beat the Clinton girls 2,708-2,610.

Evan Marr led the River Kings with a 483 two-game series in individual play. He rolled games of 258 and 225. Tim Dawson was just 16 pins behind Marr with a 219-248—467.

Lauren Pedersen and Alexis Halcomb each had 356 totals to lead the River Queens (3-5 in the MAC).

Clinton’s boys junior varsity team wrapped up an unbeaten season in MAC play by beating Bettendorf 2,900-2,613. Bettendorf won the girls JV match 2,191-1,774, leaving the Queens with a 2-6 record.

The Clinton teams are back in action Saturday at the Muscatine Invitational.
