WYOMING — Marquette Catholic's volleyball season came to a close Friday with a 25-10, 14-25, 25-21, 25-14 loss to 11th-ranked Springville in Class 1A regional semifinal at Midland High School.
Blake Banowetz had 10 kills to lead Marquette, while Justine Kalmes was leader with 27 assists, 22 digs, two blocks and three aces.
The Mohawks finished the season with a 15-15 record.
"We fought hard all year round and developed far beyond many expectations," Marquette coach Andy Bishop said. "Though young, the girls proved their toughness time and again, and I look forward to future years coaching these girls.
"I would also like to acknowledge our sole senior, and captain, Haley Lampe, who worked to keep our team focused on becoming the best it could be. We didn't reach state, but I am very proud of how we grew through the course of the season."

WEST LIBERTY — New London, which is ranked third in the state, swept Calamus-Wheatland 26-24, 25-17, 25-13 in the Class 1A regional semifinals Friday.
