---- — ROCK FALLS, Ill. — Eli Kaczinski, Nick Anderson and Will Hasken claimed victories for Northeast on Monday, leading the Rebels to a second-place finish at the Rock Falls boys indoor track and field meet.
Erie/Prophetstown won the team title with 86 points. Northeast took second with 61 points, while Sterling edged Camanche 57-54 for third. The Indians claimed three individual titles and one first in the relays.
Kaczinski won the 1,600 meters in 4 minutes, 48.68 seconds. Anderson won the 800 in 2:09.92, while Hasken won the 400 in 55.20.
The highlight for Camanche was a 1-2 finish by Derek Harksen (7.07) and Easton McDaniel (7.20) in the 60-meter dash. Thomas Brantley won the 60 hurdles for the Indians in 8.81, and Brady Beal joined Harksen, McDaniel and Brantley in winning the 800 relay in 1:34.69.
Lane Kaczinski picked up Camanche’s other win, taking first in the shot put with a heave of 41 feet, 1 inch. Northeast’s Josh Soll was second at 39-8.
Northeast also got a second from Christian Knutsen, Gabe Empen, Hasken and Eli Kaczinski in teh 3,200-meter relay in 8:54.00. The 1,600-meter relay unit of Nick Kennicker, Mitchel Moehr, Ryan Murphy and Hasken was third in 3:53.41, and high jumper Alex Dondiego was third at 5-10.
Other teams competing in the meet were Mendota, Ill. (49.5 points), Sherrard, Ill. (48), Rock Falls (42.5) and Kewanee, Ill. (15).
