Girls basketball: Camanche gets solid road win

---- — BELLEVUE — Not counting its wins over Prince of Peace and North Cedar, Camanche has been known to play close games this season. Friday night was no different throughout most of the game.

Camanche won 44-31 for win No. 4 on the season.

The Indians pulled away in the fourth quarter despite playing close for 3 1/2 quarters.

Camanche was also efficent at the free-throw line going 10-for-16.

Kylie Vogel led the Indians with 13 points. All four of her field goals were from 3-point territory. Libby Schnoor scored nine points, and the duo of Julia Moore and Brettan Hildendorf scored eight points each.

Camanche had the challenge of quieting Bellevue's Ali Reeg, limiting her to three points. Carly scored 16 of the team's 31 total.

Cascade tops Rebels

GOOSE LAKE — Abbey Meyer scored 16 points to lead the way for the Cascade Cougars in a 54-37 win over Northeast. Two other Cougars had double-figure points — Holly Hunt with with 10 points and Mallory McDermott also had 10.

For the Rebels, Addie Oberman led with 11 points to add to her 1,000-plus career point total. Breanne Butler also scored 10 for Northeast.

Defense dominated the first quarter with neither team scoring for the first three-plus minutes. The score was 10-6 Cascade at the end of the first quarter.

The largest lead, which they maintained from the second quarter on, happened toward the final seconds of the third quarter when it was 37-19.
