Tichler leads Fulton to split

WARREN, Ill. — Colin Tichler doubled, tripled and drove in two runs to help Fulton beat Warren 9-6 in the first game of a non-conference high school baseball doubleheader Saturday.

Warren came back and earned the split with an 8-2 win in Game 2.

The Steamers scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning in the opener to go ahead 6-3. Warren pulled within 6-5, but Fulton added two more runs in the sixth.

Panthers split

ROCK FALLS — Erie/Prophetstown scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning and beat Rock Falls 8-7 on Saturday in the first game of a non-conference baseball doubleheader. The Rockets blanked the Panthers 14-0 in Game 2.

Zach Hart drove in four runs in the first game, in which Erie/Prophetstown trailed 7-3 entering the seventh inning.

Hart’s one-out double tied the score at 6-6, then a groundout by Owen McConnell put Erie/Prophetstown ahead to stay.

Winning pitcher Ethan Howard (3-1) struck out four batters over the final two innings, including the side in the bottom of the seventh.
