River Queens sweep; improve to 8-0

---- — CLINTON — Clinton dropped just 10 games as it swept North Scott 9-0 on Tuesday in girls tennis at the Ashford Tennis Center.

Samantha Brisch (No. 3) and Shannon Shovlain (No. 5) recorded shutouts in singles play for Clinton, and the River Queens won two of the three doubles matches by 8-0 scores.

“The Queens are rolling right along at 8-0,” Clinton coach Cindy Rasche said. “It’s nice to see our depth. Malika Usamanova played varsity for the first time and won.”

Doubles — Nelson/Haan (C) def. Stoker/Willmot 8-0; Rasche/Shovlain (C) def. Weaver/Whitaker 8-0; Avan Colah/Brisch (C) def. DeWulf/Remy 8-1.

Junior varsity — Clinton 4, North Scott 0.
