CLINTON — Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal ranked Clinton as the No. 18 minor league market in the United States during its most recent publication. The survey looked at 235 markets across the nation with Clinton scoring in the top 10 percent.
The project collected data from 408 teams, then assessed each minor league market on franchise stability, attendance and local economy.
Since 2009, Clinton has steadily risen in the Sports Business Journal’s biennial rankings. Clinton checked in at 68th four years ago, before improving to 37th in 2011. Clinton climbed another 19 spots in the most recent rankings.
