Indians sweep CHS meet

CLINTON — Cody Mensinger left two pins standing on his final roll, and his 298 highlighted a successful day for the Camanche High School bowling teams Saturday at the Clinton Kings and Queens Invitational at Plaza Bowl.

The Indians won both the boys and girls varsity and junior varsity titles in Class 1A in the annual tournament.

Mensinger started his day with a 203 — the fourth-best score on the team in the first round — before coming back with the day’s best game, his 298. He finished with a two-game total of 501, 12 pins behind the 513 day’s-best varsity effort by Zach Swisher of West Central (Ill.). Mensinger was joined on the seven-player all-tournament team by teammate Kyle Gifford, who rolled games of 277 and 193 for a 470 total.
