Wrestling: Panthers split mat triangular

ERIE, Ill. — Jared Cole and Noah Eads each won a pair of contested matches Tuesday to lead Erie/Prophetstown in a high school wrestling triangular.

The Panthers beat Oregon 43-24 but lost 38-28 to Lena-Winslow/Stockton. In the third match, Lena-Winslow/Stockton beat Oregon 68-9.

Wrestling at 195 pounds, Eads recorded a pin against Oregon and pulled out a 10-9 win against Hunter Binns in the other match. Cole scored a decision against Oregon and a major decision against Le-Win/Stockton at 145 pounds.
