Indians get first ever River Valley league win


Unity wins close one

GALENA, Ill. — Fulton Unity Christian lost a two-point game to open the match, but then won a pair of games by two points each to defeat Tri-State Christian 24-26, 25-23, 25-23 on Thursday.

JoLynn Frederick led the undefeated Knights with nine kills and added six aces and three digs. Katie VanderEide led Unity with seven aces.

Sherrard clips the Prophets

SHERRARD, Ill. — Sherrard eked out a two-point win in the decisive third game Thursday to defeat Prophetstown 25-13, 15-25, 25-23.

Karlie Stafford had six kills to lead the Prophets (1-1), while Kate Fringer had 13 assists, and each of them had a pair of aces.
