Michael Stamp is a Camanche resident in his first year as President of Gateway State Bank. Find out more about him in this week’s edition of Meet Your Neighbor.

What has been your favorite part about being President of Gateway State Bank?

The variety of people that you get to help. I was a lender here for eight years before becoming the president and you work with people all day long. It’s a blast to see all the different people you get to help and all the dreams you get to fulfill.

How do you stay involved with the community?

I am involved in different community groups including Clinton Rotary and Camanche Kiwanis. I also volunteer coach for my kids’ sports in Camanche; they are both in middle school.

What is your favorite thing to do in the area during the winter?

Basketball. We’re big basketball fans as far as Camanche High School. My wife and I both played and the kids are both on traveling teams and school ball.

Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?

Continue to be positive and do what I do. All about family, I have two families, a work family and home family, and I try to be there and be present for everybody.

Are you looking forward to anything in 2017?

Warmer weather. We are going through a remodel here and it will be nice to have it done. The morale here has always been good but it’s just a nice little lift here the last few weeks seeing changes.
