SAVANNA, Ill. — An Idaho man is facing a Class X felony charge for allegedly transporting approximately 32 pounds of marijuana through rural Savanna.
A Carroll County sheriff’s deputy arrested Eric T. Irwin, of Nampa, Idaho, on Monday, following a traffic stop on Illinois 52 and Illinois 54 and Roberts Road in rural Savanna. According to a press release, the deputy conducting the traffic stop called for a K-9 unit, which revealed the marijuana.
Irwin was charged with trafficking cannabis and was incarcerated at the Carroll County Jail. Upon conviction, a Class X felony carries a six- to 30-year prison sentence, with no possibility of a suspended sentence. It also may carry a fine of as much as $250,000.
