Putnam Museum opens its new science center

DAVENPORT — The Putnam Museum in Davenport has officially opened its new science center.The 10,000-square-foot space opens Saturday to the public. Officials held a ribbon-cutting event Friday.

The center features more than 45 hands-on stations focused on key aspects of science, technology, engineering and math education.

The Putnam will host opening events Saturday and Sunday featuring free family memberships and certificates. Other events are scheduled April 19 and April 20.

The Putnam is working with area schools to offer trips to the center. There will also be a classroom that features high-tech equipment.
