Iowa student reports being raped at high school

NEW HAMPTON — Authorities are investigating a report that a 17-year-old girl was raped by another student in the boys locker room at New Hampton High School in northeast Iowa.

Waterloo television station KWWL says New Hampton Police Chief Mike Anderson has confirmed that rape kit evidence has been turned over to the Iowa Department of Public Safety for analysis by its lab. It's unclear when results will be available. No arrests have been reported.

Anderson says the girl told investigators that the attack occurred around 2:30 p.m. on March 24.

New Hampton Community Schools Superintendent Jay Jurrens says he can't comment.
