The First Trust and Savings Bank in Lost Nation received some building damage last week due to the icy weather.
Bank representatives declined to comment on the accident that caused almost $10,000 of damage Friday, Dec. 20. According to an accident report from the Clinton County Sheriff’s office, Paul T. Burmeister, 50, of Lost Nation, was sanding the bank’s parking lot at 7:19 a.m., when his dump truck slid into the back of the bank.
The truck damaged the outside central air unit and cracked the side of the building.
Burmeister was uninjured. No citations were issued.
