The American Society of Nephrology inducted Dr. Anis Ansari into the Fellowship of American Society of Nephrology on Oct. 7.
FASN honors members who have achieved a distinct level of excellence in clinical nephrology. FASN status represents recognition by the society of outstanding credentials, high professional achievement, commitment to the field and demonstrated scholarship.
According to US News, there are more than 10,000 nephrologists in US, and 1,363 have achieved this honor so far. Criteria for acceptance is stringent. Nephrologists not only have to be actively practicing and board certified but must have completed certain number of continuing medical education credit in nephrology, which can take many months to complete. They also have to be involved in work that will distinguish them over the others.
Ansari has served four counties for the last 14 years since joining Medical Associates in 1999. He has written more than 30 medically related articles, many of them dealing with nephrology issue. He is board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology.
