---- — CLINTON — A newly created position has recently been installed at the Clinton Humane Society.
Sally Schroeder was hired as development director, a position designed to heighten public awareness of activities at the humane society, along with developing sustaining funding sources for improvements and program expansion.
Schroeder began her career as a French and English teacher at Mater Dei High School, retiring from teaching in 1987 to stay home with her children. In 1992, she returned to the workforce and worked as a Client Service representative for PFC, executive director of the Clinton/Jackson Planning Council, director of Member Relations at the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce, Account Manager for Iowa Telecom, Financial Advisor for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, and most recently, client relations/sales specialist for AllStar Staffing.
Schroeder also served on the Clinton School Board from 1988 to 1997 and has served on various other boards of directors. She currently sits on the board of Sarah Harding Senior Living, is a member of the Clinton Rotary Club and the Clinton Women’s Club, and has been a member of the Chamber Ambassadors since 2005.
In addition to her responsibilities with the Clinton Humane Society, Sally also works as a substitute teacher and owns her own business as an Independent Distributor for LifeVantage.
She also tutors reading at Whittier Elementary School.
The Clinton Humane Society, founded in 1941, is a nonprofit animal shelter.
