---- — CLINTON — A trial date is set for a Clinton man charged with 67 felony charges connected with the alleged sexual exploitation of a child.
The State of Iowa has charged Jason Boutwell, 33, 435 Eighth Ave. South, with seven counts of second-degree sexual abuse and 60 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Charges filed against him allege that he performed sex acts with a child younger than the age of 12 between February 2006 and January 2012.
Boutwell’s trial is set for 9 a.m. March 3 with a final pre-trial conference on Feb. 22.
Trishia Piantieri, 32, 336 Third Ave. North, is charged with second-degree sexual abuse in connection with the same investigation. Her next pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. Thursday.
The sexual abuse charges are class B felonies, carrying as much as 25 years in prison each. As class C felonies, each of the exploitation charges carry as much as 10 years in prison and a fine of between $1,000 and $10,000.
