---- — CLINTON — The Clinton City Council will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Clinton City Hall for its last meeting of the year.
During that meeting, council members will vote to accept the resignation from City Attorney Jeff Farwell and to approve his severance package.
Council members during their last Committee of the Whole meeting asked for Farwell’s resignation and offered him a six- month severance package.
If approved, Farwell would receive a little more than $56,000 over the course of six months effective Jan. 2.
The council also will consider forgiving $26,000 in interest and costs on sewer lines for embattled apartment complex Miller Ridge.
Several tax liens have been filed against the property and Joseph Miller from October 2009 to June 2012. However, during the lien process Miller declared bankruptcy, which gave receivership of the property to Layton State Bank.
Approving a contract to place a stop light at Harrison Drive and U.S. 30 also will be up for council approval.
