---- — GOOSE LAKE — More research and discussion is needed regarding the possibility of Northeast providing some form of before and after school child-care programing.
Superintendent Jim Cox on Tuesday spoke about such a program in his report, during the board of education meeting. He plans to take the next few months to study the idea and review potential options.
“The problem is, we don’t know how many people actually want it,” Cox said.
Cox plans to ask parents if they would be interested in such a program at school registration on Aug. 1. He added this would most likely start as just babysitting.
“The key is finding the right person to run it, that’s organized and that parents will be pleased with what their kids receive,” Cox said.
