CLINTON — Clinton County Justice Coordinating Commission Coordinator Brian McKenrick will leave his position later this month to accept another based in Scott County.
McKenrick will leave the CCJCC on Sept 26 and will start on Sept. 27 as the Assistant District Court Administrator for Scott, Clinton, Cedar, Jackson and Muscatine counties.
“The opportunity knocked and I couldn’t say no,” McKenrick said.
McKenrick has a bachelor’s degree in politics and a masters in legal administration. He said this new position is a lateral move into the branch of justice administration that he wants to work in.
McKenrick will handle the business side of district court, managing the case flow and making sure everything is heard in a timely manner.
“Do what the district court administrator tells me to,” McKenrick joked.
While leaving the CCJCC, McKenrick will remain in his home in Camanche. He said his departure from the commission could end up beneficial.
“Fresh blood sometimes enables people to look at things a little differently,” McKenrick said.
He is unsure of the CCJCC’s plans to replace him, saying the commission will need to evaluate what direction they want to go.
“Time will tell,” McKenrick said.
