DeWitt open house canceled

DEWITT — The public’s chance to see the work done at the new Clinton County building in DeWitt, was canceled due to today’s weather predictions.

The Clinton County Board of Supervisors made the decision this morning to cancel Tuesday’s open house at the new DeWitt location. County Human Resources Manager Lynn Tibbetts said the board made the decision based on area schools getting out early Tuesday for the predicted snow. She added that a new date for the open house has not been set.

The open house was scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. to allow people to see what has already been completed at the old DeWitt Candlelight building. Phase one work was completed by the end of 2012 and the sheriff’s office moved its DeWitt annex into the building. The county is currently working to get phase two finished by the end of this year.
