---- — CLINTON — With so many things going on during these warm summer months it’s easy to forget that fall, and the start of college classes, is just a few weeks away.
That means many people, both young and those who are a bit older, are making final decisions about their future plans. To help students make an informed decision, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, which includes Clinton, Muscatine and Scott community colleges is hosting a July 9 Learn More/Earn More event where interested students can get the answers to all of their questions.
The event begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at the three colleges as well as EICC’s Blong Technology Center.
Learn More/Earn More is open to everyone. EICC has become the first choice for both students just graduating from high school as well as those who have been out of school for several years and are now returning.
Several representatives from the college will be on hand at each location to discuss academic programs, career training, financial aid and the admissions process.
The community colleges offer a wide variety of programs designed specifically to help students get ahead in today’s world. These include a college transfer program for students interested in completing a bachelor’s degree or beyond, and more than 50 career programs for those who want to enter directly into the job market.
The colleges continue to work to keep tuition low, currently the lowest in the state of Iowa, and provide a wide variety of grant, loan and scholarship options.
