FULTON, Ill. — A field biologist will talk about birding adventures next week in Fulton.
Kelly McKay, field biologist from Hampton, Ill., will tell of his bird adventures during a 2003-04 Marathon Christmas Bird Count from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Windmill Cultural Center. McKay’s presentation is the first of a four-month series of programs on Wednesday mornings from at the Windmill Cultural Center.
McKay holds a BS and MS in biology/ornithology from Western Illinois University. As a biologist/consultant, McKay has worked for governmental and industrial factions. At the Cultural Center, he will show a PowerPoint and share his experiences during one of the years he participated in 23 consecutive Christmas Bird Count groups.
Fulton is part of the circle included in the annual bird count which began in 1956.
