Suspicious package found near railroad

CLINTON — A suspicious package found Wednesday afternoon near the Canadian Pacific Railroad tracks on the city’s north side turned out to be nothing, Clinton police officials say.

Clinton police were called to 32nd Avenue North and the railroad tracks for a suspicious package at 2:15 p.m. according to Cpl. Jeff Peasley.

The Quad City Area Bomb Squad was called in and cleared the package.
