Savanna ambulance celebrates 40th anniversary

SAVANNA, Ill. — The Savanna Community Ambulance Association will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with an outdoor family fun day party for the community on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Old Mill Park in Savanna.

The schedule of events includes:

• 5K family walk/run at 9 a.m. Registration is at 8 a.m. with a cost of $10 per person or $20 per family;

• Fire truck rides beginning at 11 a.m.;

* Free helicopter viewing;

* Fire/EMS department cot races;

* Bounce house for children;

* Free popcorn and cotton candy; and

* Free hot dog, chips and drink from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or when sold out).
