CLINTON — Two Clinton businesses are needing the area’s help to make downtown better.
Déjà Vu Furniture and the Painted Rooster have been accepted for a nomination to the Dream Big Grow Here contest that will give a monetary prize to a small business to make improvements to their business.
Lou Ray, co-owner of Deja Vu, would use the money to place a large lighted sign to place on the river-facing side of her building at the corner of Fifth Avenue South and First Street. The sign would promote her business and downtown Clinton so the thousands of people who cross the U.S. 30 bridge everyday would see it and come to Clinton’s downtown.
If the Painted Rooster won the money, it would be used as seed money to purchase and remodel another potential downtown Clinton business.
To vote, go to www.dreambiggrowhere.com, and select vote — Quad Cities 2013 — and then choose either Deja Vu or Painted Rooster.
Voting runs through 5 p.m. Nov. 25 and participants may vote once daily.
