Scary fun

• The Wabash Valley Fair Association’s first “Fall Festival at the Fairgrounds” continues this weekend. This new event will feature the Wabash Valley’s largest haunted house attraction with over 20,000 square feet called “Scare at the Fair.”

• The Fall Festival will also include a Harvest Pavilion that will be filled with a straw maze, petting zoo, pumpkins, decorating station, picnic area and educational agricultural displays.

• The event is being presented by Regional Hospital with proceeds from Scare at the Fair benefiting the United Way of the Wabash Valley.



Live performance

• The Israeli Ethnic Ensemble will perform at 7 p.m. today at the Coffee Grounds. The five members come from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and truly reflect a cultural mosaic of the varied musical styles of Israel.

• The music performed by the ensemble relies on Eastern European, Balkan and Gypsy traditions. The event is free.



At the Opry

• Tracey K. Houston, an award-winning traditional country music artist, presents in song and story “Hey Loretta,” a portrayal of the queen of country music Loretta Lynn at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Boot City Opry.

• “Hey Loretta” traces the highlights of Lynn’s lengthy career and the roots and development of her music, which evolved from biographical songs to tunes about strong-willed, independent and feisty women.

• “Hey Loretta” is a 90-minute, two-part production. The first 45-minute set covers the 1960s and, after an intermission, the second 45-minute set covers the 1970s to the present.
