Bouyer

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Shawn D. Bouyer, son of Belinda G. and John D. Bouyer of Weatherford, Texas, and fellow sailors of Patrol Squadron 10 "Red Lancers" (VP-10), Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla., recently completed the fourth month of their six-month deployment to the Navy's Africa Command and Central Command, operating from bases in Quatar, Djibouti, and Japan.

While deployed, the Lancers have conducted operations in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom to include maritime security operations; anti-submarine warfare; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; routine maritime patrol and anti-piracy missions in the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden and maintained a 99.5 percent sortie completion rate.

The Lancers introduced a contingent from Patrol Squadron One "Screaming Eagles" (VP-1) to Central Command theater of operations during the Screaming Eagles' two-day visit from Widbey Island, Wash. The Screaming Eagles will replace the Lancers at the conclusion of the units deployment in December.

In Djibouti, during a "Non Sibi" day, meaning not for ourselves, the Lancers helped distribute 10, 000 units of clothing donated by Carter's Inc., Atlanta, Ga. The influx of 270 boxes temporarily shut down the camp post office until the sailors loaded the donations on a truck and moved them into storage. The donations were then distributed with the assistance of the base staff, U.S. Embassy personnel and the Ministry of Women and Family Affairs.

Bouyer is a 1998 graduate of Millsap High School of Millsap, Texas and joined the Navy in February 2005.



Garza

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Adam G. Garza graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He earned distinction as an honor graduate.

Garza is the son of Jerry and Marlene Garza of Granbury, Texas.

The airman graduated in 2001 from The Oakridge School, Arlington, Texas, and earned a bachelor's degree in 2005 from Texas A&M, College Station.



Hegre

Army Reserve Spec. Peter W.E. Hegre IV has completed the Warrior Transition Course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

The course teaches basic skills necessary for integration into the Army for all prior-service servicemembers to fully prepare them for Advanced Individual Training or on to their first assignment.

Soldiers undergo much of the same training developed in basic combat training, except it is developed in a program of instruction that lasts five weeks instead of nine. To complete the course, soldiers must complete the Army Physical Fitness Test, with a minimum of 60 points in each event, M-16 weapon qualification, tactical foot marches, tactical field and situational training, and the land navigation course.

He is the son of Gary Hegre of Elko, Nev.

His wife, Heather, is the daughter of Clyde Evans of Springtown, Texas.

Hegre received an associate degree from the Community College of the Air Force, and earned a bachelor's degree from Wayland Baptist University, Plainview, Texas, both in 2002.



Kersey

Air Force Airman Luke J. Roy graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Thomas Roy of Weatherford, Texas, and Linda Roy of Matador, Texas.

Roy is a 2001 graduate of Weatherford High School.
