Sean Christopher Thomas considers himself a true son of Weatherford. And now that he’s releasing his first album under the name Sean Kristopher, he thinks the “country sound” he heard growing up has had an audible impact on his music.

“Growing up in Weatherford definitely affected my music,” he said. “I’m a Kangaroo through and through, and I was in choir and drama while I was in high school. But even outside school, I got a great feel for all kinds of music while I was growing up there.”

Sean Kristopher is out promoting his first album, titled “Country World of Mine,” and spoke to The Democrat from Las Vegas.

“We’re in the building phase right now, doing radio and press,” he said. “I’m trying to go wherever I need to be to promote this album. But by the end of the year, the single will be out, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to jump on some shows and appear on a few tours.”

According to the artist’s representative, Thomas Goldstein, Sean Kristopher is “something special.”

“A person like him is born every 20 decades,” Goldstein said. “He really is something special and represents Weatherford well.”

The released biography says the 31-year-old singer idolized Charlie Pride as a child, and plays 13 instruments.

“Everyone is going to know Sean for his golden voice,” the release states. “Once it touches your soul, you will never forget him.”

Sean Kristopher said he is really excited to show his hometown what he has to offer in the country music, and he appreciates the support he’s already received.

“We’re just really excited about everything right now,” he said. “I hope everyone will see this and continue to support me.”
