Local church collecting food for Thanksgiving

MILLSAP — The Newberry Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Millsap will be putting together at least four Thanksgiving baskets for families in need in the Millsap/Weatherford area.

If you, your office, Sunday school, school class or scouting organization can help in anyway, contact the Newberry Church at (817) 283-1916, or bring supplies to the church at 1301 Newberry Rd. Millsap (please call first so that someone can be there to meet and greet you). We are looking for:

4 hams

4 turkeys

8 cans of corn

8 cans of green beans

4 bags of potatoes

8 cans of yams

4 cans of cranberry sauce

4 pies (pumpkin or apple)

or 4 of any items that you would like to find on your Thanksgiving table.

In the past, we have been able to serve even more families because of the kindness of others in the community. Any amount of supplies will be of great help in filling the baskets.

The church must deliver the baskets on Sunday, Nov. 22.

If you are not able to help in November, the Church will be attempting to deliver four Christmas baskets in December.
