FULTON, Ill. — Rex A. Hartman, 56, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Joseph Reising, elder of Pine Creek Independent Church in Polo, IL, will be officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, IL.

Memorials may be made to the River Music Experience, Davenport, IA.

He was born May 16, 1952, in Clinton, IA, to Arnold A. and Grace E. (Zuidema) Hartman.

He attended Fulton Grade Schools. He was a graduate of Fulton High School, Fulton, IL.

He assisted his father in farming, was employed at Wildwood Farms, Fulton, IL, did yard care for various private individuals, worked as a private duty caregiver and also was employed by the Fulton Corporation, Fulton, IL, as a maintenance man.

He enjoyed bicycling, photography and was an accomplished musician, capable of playing many instruments. He also was an amateur artist.

Survivors include his mother, Grace E. Hartman, Fulton, IL; three nieces, Lindsay Hannan, Moline, IL, Melanie Purcell, Clinton, IA, and Rachel Purcell, Clinton, IA; great-nieces and nephews, Madison and Nadalie Burman; Vaughn, Lea and Marlee Purcell; and Aaron Hasenmiller and Cade Hannan.

He was preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Vickie Purcell-Weaver.
