CAMANCHE — The Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center is open seven days a week, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Snowshoes, ice skates and cross country skis will be available for use when conditions allow.

The camp store will be open for limited service Monday through Friday and full service on weekends.

● Wednesday, Dec. 4. Open Range, Archery from 4-7 p.m. at Rock Creek.The Archery Range in the basement of the Eco Center will be open for public use. The event will include both safety and practical instruction. Participants must use the available equipment and will be under the watchful eye of a range master. Children 9 and older must be accompanied by an adult.

● Thursday, Dec. 5. Night Hike at Sherman Park, North Entrance. With a waxing gibbous moon overhead, participants may not need a flashlight. There will be a campfire and s’mores to follow.

● Friday, Dec. 6. Animals in Winter at 10 a.m. at the Discovery Center, Clinton. The group will follow along with a young fawn’s journey to prepare for winter with the book “First Snow of the Woods” by Carl Sams with finger puppets, a live painted turtle and animal artifacts to bring the story to life.

● Wednesday, Dec. 11. Open Range, Archery from 4-7 p.m. at Rock Creek.

● Wednesday, Nov. 18. Open Range, Air Rifles from 4-7 p.m. at Rock Creek. The Air Rifle Range in the basement of the Eco Center will be open for public use. The event will include both safety and practical instruction. Participants must use our equipment and will be under the watchful eye of a range master. Children 9 and older must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is free.
