CLINTON — The Clinton Police Department is investigating an incident that involved removing eight dogs from a Clinton house and finding a deceased dog at the residence.
According to information from the Clinton Police, officers were dispatched to 422 Fourth Ave. North at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Clinton Humane Society with the removal of Pit Bull dogs from the residence.
Upon arrival, officers located nine dogs, with eight living and one dead. The residence was found to have no power, heat or water. An owner of the residence allowed the dogs to be removed from the house and taken to the Clinton Humane Society.
The dogs were covered in feces and blood. The homeowner claimed the dogs were fighting inside the residence and she was unable to control them so she called for assistance. According to the homeowner, one dog was killed by another dog.
According to property records, the deed holder for the property is Ihh/Big 12/Four Guys LLC, a Texas Limited Liability Co. The contract holder for the property is Teresa Muhs.
No charges have been filed. The incident remains under investigation.
