CLINTON — Improvements continue to be made at the former Best Western Frontier Motor Inn and Ashford University dormitory complex, which now again serves as a hotel with over 100 rooms.
The EconoLodge, located at 2300 Lincoln Way, opened Dec. 31. Improvements on the property began in November 2017 and included updates to the lobby and plumbing, among other indoor improvements. EconoLodge is also looking to do some structural outdoor renovations.
“A lot of people should just stop in and take a look,” the property’s general manager, Cody Bingham, said. “We invite folks to come in, look around and see some of the progress that’s been done. Every day something’s going on here. So it’s just constant improvement. So we just appreciate the patience of the community while the renovations are underway.”
The property had been unused since 2014 until its opening as the EconoLodge. The property, before its closure, served as housing for Ashford University students and prior to that was the Best Western Frontier Motor Inn.
The hotel features 106 guestrooms and offers amenities such as free high-speed internet, free premium movie channels such as HBO, free newspapers and a complimentary continental breakfast of coffee, juice and baked goods. The hotel also has over 2,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space along with an attached restaurant.
The EconoLodge hotel brand is a pioneer in green practices and sustainability among economy priced hotels. The program, known as Room To Be Green, is currently in place at all EconoLodge hotels and is designed to minimize environmental impact through mandatory energy and water conservation practices, recycling and waste reduction.
The hotel will participate in Choice Privileges, the rewards program offered by Choice Hotels International, Inc. Membership is free and offers points to be put toward free nights, airline miles, gift certificates and more while staying at more than 6,300 Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambrian hotels and suites, MainStay Suites, Suburban Extended Stay Hotels, and EconoLodge and Rodeway Inn brand hotels as well as the Ascend Hotel Collection member hotels.
