DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The Clinton Herald won 16 awards from the Iowa Newspaper Association Friday during the INA 2019 Convention and Trade Show in Des Moines.
More than 3,600 entries in dozens of categories were judged by class, based on circulation. The Herald competes in Daily Class I for newspapers published daily with 9,999 circulation and less.
The Herald took first place in Coverage of Agriculture, Coverage of Business, Best Series (by Scott Levine), Best Web Advertisement.
The Herald was second in the categories Best Headline Writing, Best Use of Graphics and Best Newspaper Marketing.
The Herald won third place in General Excellence, Best Editorial Pages and Coverage of Court and Crime.
In digital categories, The Herald's Scott Levine took first place for Best Blog.
In photography categories, Rachael Keating took second for Best News Photo and for Best Photo Story.
The Herald also earned awards for its advertising, placing second in Best Ad Featuring Grocery/Food/Entertainment, Best Ad Series or Campaign Featuring Any Service or Merchandise Category and in Agricultural Advertising.
