Fish fry to raise money fro MDA

CAMANCHE – Members of the Camanche Fire Department, in cooperation with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, will host its annual fish fry to benefit its annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign.

Firefighters will serve fish from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Imperial Lanes, 1823 S. Washington Blvd. in Camanche.

For 65 years firefighters have stood on the front lines to help MDA raise critical funds to help transform the lives of kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases, the Camanche Fire Department said in a press release this week.

Funds raised through 2019 Camanche Fill the Boot events help the MDA save lives and lift those up in need by providing vital resources including state-of-the-art support groups and Care Centers such as the MDA Care Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

MDA also gives more than 55 Iowa kids the opportunity to experience MDA Summer Camp at no cost to their families at Camp Courageous in Monticello.
