Anti-Trafficking meeting is Feb. 12

CLINTON — The Franciscan Peace Center of the Sisters of St. Francis of Clinton will hold an Anti-Trafficking Committee meeting at 9 a.m. Feb. 12.

The meeting will be at The Canticle, 843 13th Ave. North, Clinton.

YWCA Pre-School to host blood drive

CLINTON — YWCA Pre-School will host a community blood drive from 2:30 to 6:15 p.m. Jan. 22 at 317 Seventh Ave. South, inside the Colonial Room.

To donate, contact Becky Atherton at 242-2110 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 1942 to locate the drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with a parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. Photo identification is required to donate.

For questions about eligibility, call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 1-800-747-5401. Donors who last gave blood on or before Nov. 27 are eligible to give at this drive.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. In this area, MVRBC is the exclusive provider to Genesis Health System, Mercy Clinton and Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, Illinois.

'Have a Worry Free New Year'

FULTON, Ill. — Stonecroft Twin Rivers "After Five" invites all women to enjoy a relaxing, inspirational evening with a program and dinner from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Triple Play Banquet & Bowl, 1601 Ninth Ave., Fulton. Cost of dinner is $11.

Twin Rivers "After Five" is a part of Stonecroft Women's Connection, a nondenominational and international organization based in Overland Park, Kansas. There is no membership required to be a part of our group.

Special Feature will be Lou Ray. She will tell of her Deja Vu Consignment Store in Clinton. She has an interesting story of how her store began and how it has grown in the past few years.

Inspirational Speaker will be Lori Boruff from Aledo, Illinois. She will tell of a humorous and revealing walk down "Worry Lane!" She is like a GPS guiding women from worry to living a wonderful life.
