CLINTON — Monday's Clinton School District board meeting saw the acceptance of a personnel change among board members.
After formally accepting the resignation of board member Angela Ash, who was elected to the school board in 2015, remaining board members voted to appoint Mike House to fill the vacant seat left by Ash's departure.
House will serve in the seat for the remainder of what would have been Ash's term, until the November 2019 election.
Clinton School Board President Eric Gettes and Superintendent Gary DeLacy both thought of House when it came to filling the vacancy due to the fact that he ran for a board seat in the most recent election in September 2017. Though not elected, House was the next-leading vote-getter.
In a questionnaire sent to House in the pre-election months, he said he wished to sit on the board to ensure that his three daughters could continue to benefit from "a great district, with great traditions and a great future."
