'Colors of the Rainbow' theme of After Five

FULTON, Ill. — Twin Rivers "After Five" invites all women to the "Colors of the Rainbow" dinner and program from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Triple Play Banquet & Bowl, 1601 Ninth Ave., Fulton. Cost of dinner is $11.

The group will be collecting nonperishable items for the Fulton-Thomson Food Pantry.

Special feature will be Deb McDowell, who is known at "Mrs. Sew It All." She sews costumes, wedding dresses and quilts, and makes repairs and alterations. She also makes bears for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

Inspirational speaker will be Kay Gulley from Springfield, Illinois. She will speak on "Turning Raindrops into Rainbows." Do you prefer to spend a day in the sunshine or in the rain? Both are necessary. If you look carefully on a rainy day, you may find that the sun is busy making a rainbow for you to enjoy. She is a retired teacher, but continues to volunteer.

Phone reservations and cancellations by May 12 to Ruth Huizenga at (309) 659-2175 or Carolene Sterenberg at (309) 887-4097.
