Congressman visits injured Clinton firefighter


IOWA CITY — A U.S. Congressman has announced that a Clinton firefighter's condition is improving and that he has been moved out of the intensive care unit.

U.S. Congressman Dave Loebsack, a Democrat who represent's Iowa's Second Congressional District, posted a photo of himself with firefighter Adam Cain over the weekend. The photo shows Cain smiling and sitting up in a chair.

"(Cain) still needs our thoughts and prayers as he continues to recover," Loebsack wrote in the post.

Cain has been hospitalized at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City since the Jan. 5 fire and explosion at Clinton's Archer Daniels Midland plant. Clinton Fire Lt. Eric Hosette was killed in the explosion.
