Job hunting to go

Jamie McLaughlin, business service consultant for IowaWorks Clinton, hands a bag of job fliers to Jodie Lippens during a drive-thru job fair in Clinton. Lippens picked up the information for her son who just graduated from high school, she said. According to Andy Sokolovich of the Clinton Regional Development Corp., about 18 people drove through when the event began at 11 a.m. Some were unemployed, while others were anticipating unemployment or were looking for a change, he said. About 40 employers offered more than 100 job opportunities in the fliers. A similar event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 4-6 p.m. at the DeWitt Travel Mart off U.S. 30.
