Leadership changes announced at Alverno

CLINTON — The Alverno Senior Care Community in Clinton has announced that Theresa Nielsen, RN, BSN has been named administrator for the organization.

Nielsen began her career at The Alverno in 1997, and has served as director of nursing since 2002.

Nielsen has implemented numerous person-centered initiatives over the years, and has an unyielding compassion for seniors. As administrator, she will continue to move The Alverno forward with the remodeling of their facility, and transition of service lines to create enriched senior living and memory care opportunities for older adults.

Nielsen is an active member of the Iowa Health Care Association. In 2007, she was named IHCA Director of Nursing of the year, and currently serves on the IHCA Quality Committee.

Nielsen will replace Libby Goodman, MBA, LNHA, who was recently promoted to vice president of operations for the Iowa Region of Trinity Health Senior Communities. Goodman has served as the administrator of The Alverno since 2008, and led the facility to obtain the Silver and Gold American Health Care Quality Awards.

In her new role, Goodman will continue to provide executive support for The Alverno, as well as oversight support for Trinity Health's managed ministries in Iowa and Wisconsin.

The Alverno is a part of Trinity Health Senior Communities and offers the opportunity for seniors to age in place through enriched long-term living and memory care. The Alverno has been providing care to seniors since 1914, and is proud to be the only facility in the State of Iowa to achieve the Gold Quality Award from the American Health Care Association.
