Duplicate Bridge Club results

CLINTON — John Mulholland and Gary Bibby were top Clinton Duplicate Bridge Club winners recently at Clinton Church of Christ. Mary Duhr and Phyllis Morris were second; Tom Tegeler and Frank Nester, third; Sherry Marlowe and Emily Delaney, fourth; Merry Iverson and Kasu Rickertsen, fifth; David and Eleanor McCann, sixth; and Elaine Fishwild and Toni Decker, seventh.

The next Bridge game will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at Clinton Church of Christ.

Min’s Mississippi Memorial walk/run is Aug. 31

THOMSON, ILL. — The 25th annual Min’s Mississippi Memorial 4 Mile Walk/Run will be Aug. 31 in Thomson.

The race will begin at 8 a.m. at the west end Main Street past the Causeway campground. T-shirts are guaranteed to entries received by Aug. 23. Cost is $13 by Aug. 23 and all late or race day entry fees will be $15.

Participants can pick up their T-shirts on race day. Registration will be from 7 to 7:45 a.m. All proceeds will go toward the Melinda Wilkinson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Church block party is Aug. 18 in Clinton

CLINTON — The annual multi-church block party will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 18 at Clinton Park, across from Central Fire Station.

In case of rain, the event will be held at Zion Lutheran Church. The event will feature games, music, face painting, clowns, and music. Butterflies will be released.

Children will be given school supplies. The menu will include hot dogs, baked beans, potato chips, cookies and lemonade. Bring a lawn chair. There is no charge to attend and everyone is welcome.

Hunter safety camp set

CAMANCHE – A hunter safety camp for youths ages 11 to 16 will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Rock Creek Campground and Marina, 3942 291st St.

Cost is $30 per person and a Hunter Education certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the class. To register or for more information, call Jessica Steines at (563) 847-7202.

Grace Camp pancake breakfast is Aug. 18

DEWITT – Grace Camp will host a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 18 in the outdoor pavilion, 2675 242nd St.

The menu will include pancakes, sausage, egg casserole and fruit. Admission is a free-will donation and everyone is invited to attend.
